A breath of sea air doesn't do anyone any harm. Within easy reach for a Day Out from Birmingham is the seaside resort of Burnham on Sea.
With a nice flat esplanade it is an easy walk along the sea front . There are three Lighthouses in Burnham, only one f which is still in use, a most unusual wooden structure standing on wooden piles on the beach.
Burnham also boasts the shortest pier in England built in the Edwardian era it was the first concrete structure of its kind and attracted engineers from all over Europe to come and see it. . Today it houses amusement and refreshment areas whilst outwardly maintaining its Edwardian Charm.
To one side of Burnham is Apex Park offering some nice wild life walks around the Lakes that were formerly Clay Pits.
Back in the Town, which has a very Victorian appearance, there are numerous shops, restaurants and Pubs to provide sustenance and retail therapy.
Burnam on Sea sits on the Bristol Channel approximately 18 miles from Weston Super Mare
Apex Park is approximately 1.6.miles from Pier Street where your Coach will be parked. (a 5 minute taxi ride or approximate 30 minute walk).
A Bus service with a half open top deck runs from Burnham on sea along the coast to Weston Super Mare (Service 20 runs at 30 minute intervals and takes about 55 minutes either way).
