Sitting on the banks of the river Avon between Warwick and Stratford upon Avon is Charlecote Park . Although the land has been owned by the Lucy family since 1247 the house and Park were not created until 1558. Since then it has passed down through branches of the Lucy Family until 1946 when it was given to the National Trust in lieu of death duties. The House as it stands today is mainly Victorian created by George Hammond Lucy who inherited the property in 1823 and set about re-creating the house in its original form.

Charlecote is famed for its Deer and you will see many roaming free in the Parkland surrounding the property.

Today we will visit the house which will have its ground floor rooms open and decorated for Christmas. Each room will have a different theme and perhaps you can solve the Grat Charlecote Jewel Theft in the style of an Agatha Christie Mystery.

After the visit to the house we retire to the Orangery where we will be served with a 2 course meal (starter & main Course) followed by Mince Pie with tea or coffee.
